Group Visits

Families, youth groups, ward/stake councils, temple and family history committees, church organizations or community groups are welcome to schedule activities at the center.   Appointments are available during regular hours, evenings, Fridays and weekends.   To see if your date and time are available, please check the calendar as all groups are also shown on there.   Calendar

For community groups, please contact one of the Stake Assistants listed below or Tammy Stevenson 208-431-4504.  Some options of activities are listed below in the Youth Group section.  We will also offer specialized classes to meet your groups needs.   We ask for a minimum of five people, but can accommodate up to 40-80 depending on the activity. 

For Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Groups:

Youth Groups - Wednesday evenings are available for youth groups.  We can accommodate groups of any size up to 40 youth. Groups of around 20 or less are preferred for a more hands on experience.   All youth group reservations are made through Wendy 208-431-5594 at least one week in advance. Please select from the following options, or indicate an activity of your choice when making the reservation.  Each persons needs to bring their FamilySearch (or Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) log in name and password. 

Youth Options Include: 

  • Know Your FamilySearch Center - Learn how to use Ordinances Ready, use the family history activities on FamilySearch, and use the Recording Room
  • Connecting Families - Learn how to attach sources and the information found in them to your family, thus assuring that ALL members of a family are found.
  • Love Your Cousins - Learn to use Ordinances Ready to connect families and how to do descendancy research to ensure that all members of a family have their temple work done.  
  • Ancestral Hometown Project - Choose a hometown from an ancestor in your tree using the fan, chart, use the map feature, then use Google to learn 3 things about that hometown.  Use Goldie May to attach records from that town, county, state, or country.
  • Family Heirlooms - Learn how to use the free FindMyHeritage photo tools, i.e. enhance, colorize, repair, animate, PhotoDater, AI Time Machine and Photo Storyteller. Take pictures and tell stories of family heirlooms so that those precious memories are preserved for the entire family.  Bring 1-5 photos on a flash drive or scan them to your empty flash drive at the FamilySearch center.
  • Get Involved - How to use Quick Name and Full Name Review and other volunteer opportunities. 
  • NEW - Burley Idaho Temple Journey Guidebook- Bring your youth groups to the FamilySearch Center and let us help you work on your Burley Idaho Temple journey guide books.

If youth wish to come on a night other than Wednesday, contact your Stake Assistants.

YSA Groups - Monday nights are available primarily for YSA groups.  All YSA reservations are made through Tammy Stevenson 208-431-4504

For groups within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints contact your Stake Assistants to set up a time and date. They will arrange all of the necessary staff and accommodations for your group.   Some options are listed above in the Youth Group section.  Other options include:
